Benefits & Opportunities

At the Academy of Science & Medicine, we believe in providing our students with unparalleled opportunities to excel in their academic and professional journeys.

Our program extends well beyond the traditional high school experience, providing students with access to hands-on experiences inside laboratories, clinics, hospitals, and more. Our partnerships with top community organizations, exclusive scholarships, college credit opportunities, and our ever-growing alumni network further sets ASM apart from other innovative school models or AP classes. ASM opens doors to a bright future. Explore the many benefits of being an ASM student below.

  • $25,000 annually for 4 years (or more, depending on qualifications) to the University of Evansville for any accepted students.
  • $1,500 annually for 4 years to the University of Southern Indiana for 10 deserving recipients.
  • $1,000 General-Purpose Scholarship from the Vanderburgh Medical Alliance for 3 recipients.
  • $1,000 General-Purpose Scholarship awarded yearly to the recipient of the Weber Award.

Scholarship Opportunities

ASM students have access to a variety of exclusive scholarships through our partnerships with local universities and organizations. These scholarships are designed to support your higher education goals and ease the financial burden of college.

In addition to these exclusive opportunities, the specialized experiences and skills students gain at ASM make them highly competitive for scholarships beyond those directly connected to our program. ASM graduates consistently earn major merit awards — including presidential and full-tuition scholarships — exceeding typical peer outcomes and generating millions of dollars in scholarship support each year. This sustained success reflects the strength of ASM student resumes, sought-after skill sets, and standout college applications.

College Credit

At ASM, students have the opportunity to earn college credit through AP Testing and various college-level course offerings. Each year, the selection of courses available for credit may change as we continually enhance our curriculum and expand opportunities to better prepare our graduates for their college careers.

Senior Research Project & Micro-Internship Opportunities

Our Senior Research Project is designed for students in their final year at ASM. Students are asked to undertake a comprehensive research project in their desired area of interest, applying their knowledge and skills developed over their 4 years in ASM to real-world problems. This project encourages in-depth exploration and innovation, culminating in a presentation of their findings to peers and professionals.

ASM Students also have access to micro-internship opportunities that provide hands-on experience in various professional settings. These micro-internships allow students to gain practical skills, network with industry experts, and enhance their resumes, all while exploring potential career paths.

Together, the Senior Research Project and access to micro-internships offer a well-rounded and impactful capstone to the ASM experience, preparing our students for future academic and career success.

Community Partners

At ASM, our community partnerships are integral to the hands-on, immersive learning experience we provide to students. We’ve cultivated strong relationships with local universities, healthcare institutions, and other regional and community organizations to ensure our students have access to unique opportunities that go beyond the classroom.

These collaborations open doors for micro-internships, lab work, and mentorships, giving students firsthand experience in the fields of science and medicine. Our partners also offer invaluable support in preparing students for college and their future careers. By working closely with these community partners, ASM is able to bridge the gap between academic theory and real-world application, ensuring our graduates are ready to thrive in their chosen fields.

We are truly grateful for the commitment and resources our partners provide to help shape the future of our students. We extend our sincere thanks to the following organizations:
